Eye Exams

Lassman’s Fine Eyewear Inc. would like to introduce our new Independent Optometric Physician

Garry D Kappel OD, FCOVD

Dr Kappel, who has practiced Developmental Optometry for 52 years, graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1963.

Opening a full scope Optometric practice in Portland Oregon in 1964, Dr Kappel utilized both Vision Therapy, (VT) and nutrition to augment care of his patients, while gradually utilizing craniosacral therapy to aid his VT patient’s progress.

In 2001 Dr Kappel relocated to Lakeview Oregon, where shortly afterward he once more opened a full scope Optometry practice, as the only eye doctor serving a radius of one hundred miles.

In 2015, after selling his Lakeview practice, Dr Kappel moved to Jacksonville Oregon where he continues to see patients for craniosacral therapy to improve visual function, alleviate headaches and closed head trauma affecting eyesight.

In March 2019, Dr Kappel was delighted to join the warm, very competent, and friendly staff of Lassman’s Fine Eyewear Inc as an independent Optometric physician.

Contact Lenses

Lassman’s can get any brand of contact lenses.

Start off right by seeing an eye care professional who provides full-service care in meeting your needs, your lifestyle, the highest quality contact lenses available, and proper training to ensure the proper care of your contact lenses.

It is important to remember that contact lenses are a prescription. Various brands are manufactured differently. The selection of a particular contact lens is based on your vision problems, prescription, eye health, comfort, lifestyle, and age. We’ll discuss the different lens types and brands with you and advise you with the lens choices that are the best for your eyes. Because everyone’s eyes and vision needs are different, contact lenses are available with different schedules for removal and replacement. We’ll teach you how to properly care and wear your new contact lenses to ensure your healthy vision.

Glasses

At Lassman’s there are many varieties of lenses to choose from.

Aspheric Lenses
If you hate thick prescription eyeglasses, try lenses in a high-index material. They offer superior optics in a thinner, lighter lens. Aspherics are ideal for strong prescriptions because they are flatter and thinner. They also provide better vision than ordinary lenses and look better because they lessen farsighted eye magnification and nearsighted eye minification.

Eyeglass Lens Coatings
anti-reflexAnti-reflective coating, scratch resistant coating and UV lens treatments are options that enhance your vision and appearance, increase the durability of your eyeglasses and protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. The lens on left has anti-reflective coating.

Multifocal Lenses
Bifocals and trifocals come in many configurations, depending on whether you sit at the computer all day, play golf, work on automobiles, etc.

Progressive Addition Lenses
Progressive lenses can do everything a bifocal or trifocal can do, but without the lines.

Polycarbonate and Trivex Lenses
Polycarbonate lenses are very impact-resistant, and thinner than regular plastic lenses. They’re great for active people — especially kids.
